Follow the green dinosaur tracks to find the next dot! Punch along the path around the dinosaurs. Training worksheets for using the puncher, maintaining thumb flexion at the last joint of the thumb, and developing a tripod grasp included in file. Developed by Jan McCleskey, MA, OTR from The Handwriting Clinic in Richardson – these activities have been used in labs at the clinic for occupational therapy. Easy for preschool and kindergarten centers set up!

2 activities:

1. Use a puncher to punch the circles. Some examples of a puncher might be a corn cob holder with one prong cut off, a push pin, or for unsupervised activities – use a golf tee or a pencil to punch. The punch pad can be a computer mouse pad, styrofoam, craft foam or a foam backed carpet square. This activity works well on eye hand coordination. Try to also have the student use a tripod grasp.

2. Use a q-tip and paint to dot along the border of each zoo animal. Work with the students to use a tripod grasp.

30 printable activities/pages. 4 clip art pictures per page. Economical. Print and cut the pages into 4ths and put into centers, or work bins with a puncher. Training sheet for types of punchers included. 42 pages in file/30 activity pages.
