Placing upper case K and lower case k within the handwriting lines can be tricky to learn! This is a story with embedded letter K and k practice, to teach students correct placement within the handwriting lines. Daddy kangaroo and baby kangaroo are hopping down the road and come to a big tree. Well, kangaroos like to kick! So baby kangaroo jumped up as high as he could. But he could only jump up to the dotted middle line. So he jumped up and then kicked the tree. He said – hi-yah, hi yah as he kicked. Then Daddy kangaroo showed baby kangaroo how high he could jump. He could jump as high as the tree – all the way up to the top line! He then kicked the tree. Students will practice being baby kangaroo and Daddy kangaroo as they practice letter K and k. Fun, simple. 2 pages – put into a sheet protector and use a dry erase marker for repeated practice, or print out worksheets for students. Also – a teacher could show this story/trick up on a projected screen for the entire class to see the trick!
Makes handwriting fun – and really seems to help students differentiate upper and lower case Kk within the handwriting lines!
