Adaptive Special Education Build a sentence with picture word sentences for Special Education, Kindergarten and 1st grade. September themed. Cut out the word-picture tiles, determine the order of the sentence and then paste and write! Perfect for kindergarten, first grade, special education, speech therapy, occupational therapy.

Instructions:

1. Cut out sentence strip into picture-word cards

2. Look for the upper-case letter – the first word in the sentence.

3. Look for the punctuation mark – the last word in the sentence.

4. Sort the sentence and paste in order.

5. Trace the themed word – starting on the dot and following the arrows for the correct sequence.

6. Copy the sentence.

7. Draw a picture of the October themed word.

This activity is perfect for beginning writers! I use it with students at my handwriting clinic to give functional sentences to practice handwriting. This activity is perfect for low readers – the pictures help the student read more challenging words. It is also perfect for students with autism or language delays, to help form sentences.
